Our Story
Founded in 2005 by professional landscape photographer Phillip Bartlett, Capture New Zealand is the premier provider of photography workshops, tours, and expeditions across New Zealand. From the beginning, our goal has been to offer photographers extraordinary, world-class experiences. Today, we continue to craft unique journeys that inspire photographers to develop their personal style and create images with greater originality, depth, and impact. The itineraries have evolved over the years as photographers became more adventurous and we led the way with new, innovative experiences such as photography from a helicopter with the doors off. Our workshops take you to both iconic landmarks and hidden gems, providing the freedom to explore composition and technique while receiving generous one-to-one guidance to bring your creative vision to life. No matter your skill level, we work with you to become a more confident and accomplished photographer.
Years of experience arranging and managing logistics have allowed us to build a reliable network of welcoming partners, ensuring every itinerary runs smoothly and delivers a high-quality experience. We are also licensed by the New Zealand Department of Conservation to guide photographers through National Parks and Reserves, fully compliant with government regulations.
When we look back on our journey, it isn’t the number of programs or years that matter most—it’s the photographers who have joined the Capture New Zealand family, returning time and again for new adventures in New Zealand and also to Indonesia, where we have been leading photo workshops since 2015.
We invite you to join us for your next photography adventure!
